Why is tree maintenance important?

How often should my trees be maintained?

Frequency depends on tree species, age, location and health. Young trees may need annual structural pruning, and mature trees every 2-3 years. Trees near power lines or structures may need more frequent clearance pruning. Our arborists will recommend a schedule after an assessment.

Knowing When Your Tree Needs Care

Look for warning signs: leaf changes, dead branches, trunk cracks, fungal growth, leaning, or exposed roots. Routine pruning and health checks prevent risks and extend life. If something seems off, our AQF Level 5 arborists can help. Early care keeps trees safe and strong.

Is pruning bad for trees?

No, when done by a certified arborist, pruning is great. It promotes healthy growth, structural integrity, removes diseased or dead wood and improves light and air penetration. Bad pruning can harm the tree; that’s why professional expertise is key.

Do you offer tree removal as part of maintenance?

While our focus is on preservation, if a tree is diseased beyond repair, a hazard or structurally unsound, we can provide tree removal services. For large trees, council approval is required, and our arborists handle the process to ensure compliance and safety. Stump removal is also available as an additional service, with stump grinding as a specific method to manage leftover stumps. We always exhaust all maintenance options first.
